Astral announced the addition of David Orr to its leadership team. Orr will act as Chief Revenue Officer overseeing the brand’s global commercial strategy.

Orr began his career at Adidas before moving to Timberland, where he directed its eCommerce and Western Sales team. From 2012 to 2018, he served as VP of US Sales at Keen and acted as Global General Manager for Dakine.

Astral Founder and CEO Philip Curry consulted with Orr on footwear strategy and distribution and appointed him to its Board of Directors.

“Philip, as a leader, has been very pure to the brand, performance product and specialty distribution,” said Orr. “There’s just such great vision and talent at Astral. From Founder to customer service, we all live the brand.”

“David has a rare blend of wisdom along with a voracious hunger for modern commercial trends,” said Curry. “David sees the enormity of the vision we have here, and he knows how to put it into action. I can’t imagine a better person to help Astral execute our business plans.”

Orr joins Astral after a tumultuous 2020, which saw Astral rebounding from the pandemic in Q2 with a turnaround that he largely attributes to Astral’s retail partners. “One of the biggest challenges for 2021 will be to simply keep up with demand while carrying that momentum into the new year and beyond. 2021 is sure to be our most successful year ever, driven by pent-up PFD demand, and I’m even more excited about what we have coming in 20 footwear and the team we are building for the future is incredible,” said Orr.
