Astral, which has been experiencing faster growth since entering the footwear business four years ago, has appointed MtnStuff as its sales rep agency in the Rocky Mountain states of Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and New Mexico.

Owned and operated by Leta Kalfas and Rich Weight, MtnStuff was founded in Colorado in 1991. Both Kalfas and Weight played a key role in the rapid growth of Chaco when it was based in Colorado. Their team of five focuses on serving the specialty outdoor market in the region. MtnStuff also represents Osprey Packs, Outdoor Research, Western Mountaineering and Woolrich.

Mike McKee will continue to spearhead Astral Sales Representation for the Northern Rockies states of Idaho and Montana.

“Mike McKee has done a spectacular job building a strong dealer base there, but our growth in footwear required reinforcements,” said Astral CEO and Founder Philip Curry. “Leta and company are a perfect fit for Astral. They are core outdoor people with a sincere appreciation for fine gear. They’ve built extensive relationships with the finest dealers and we’re honored to be a part of their excellent portfolio of brands.”

Leta Kalfas can be contacted at leta@mtnstuff.com and Richard Weight can be reached at richard@mtnstuff.com.
