ASTM International reported William A. Ells, vice president of sales at Vibram USA, will serve a three-year term on ASTM’s International board of directors.
Ells has worked for Vibram since 2010. He previously worked in sales at American Biltrite, Inc. and Quabaug Corp.
A member of ASTM International since 1998, Ells currently serves as secretary for the committee on pedestrian/walkway safety and footwear. In 2013, the committee honored him with the Award of Merit for his service and commitment to safety standards for footwear.
In addition to ASTM International, Ells is a member of the Canadian Standards Association and the Rubber and Plastic Footwear Manufacturers Association. He is also a member of the Board of the American Apparel and Footwear Association.
ASTM’s board of directors comprises 25 members from various companies, associations and government bodies worldwide. Several members reside outside the United States.
