Asics opened a Onitsuka Tiger pop-up gallery store in Soho to celebrate the brand’s arrival in New York and create awareness of the iconic lifestyle brand.

The 1,290-square foot pop-up gallery offers consumers and visitors alike a unique experience that showcases the Onitsuka Tiger brand and the support of complimenting Japanese artists. The space combines a retail space displaying a range of Onitsuka Tiger footwear and apparel offerings while the exhibition space showcases an archive of replica performance shoes, archive posters and collaborative art of locally-active Japanese artist Enirico Isamu Oyama – renowned muralist and painter using Quick Turn Structure motifs adapting graffiti pictorial representations.

The Onitsuka Tiger store will feature the US debut of the Nippon Made Collection and during its stay, the collaborative Onitsuka Tiger x Andrea Pompilio Capsule Collection which launched in Spring 2013 fusing Japanese sports inspired fashion with the Italian modish and edgy pret a poerter line.

Retailing at $300, the Nippon Made Collection uses a labor-intensive, leather made, hand stitched and dye process through Japanese craftsmanship in Japan to produce a one of a kind pair each time.

Through a series of cultivated and themed in-store events commencing in April 2017 and ending in December 2017, Onitsuka Tiger will directly speak and engage with its core audience through fashion, lifestyle, health and music.
