Reports out of Japan have Asics Corporation setting up an apparel design and production subsidiary called Asics Ubik Creation, which will commence operation in October. The move will apparently lead to the closure of its current women's sportswear subsidiary, Asics Almos Inc.
The new sub, which is expected to generate ¥1.5 billion in revenues for the fiscal 2006 year ending March 2006, will be set up in Osaka to produce sportswear, outdoor clothing and related accessories.
