The Arizona Game and Fish Commission has appointed Tom Finley as Director of the Arizona Game and Fish Department.
The Commission appointed Finley unanimously in a 5-0 vote at its September 5 meeting in Prescott, AZ. Finley will replace outgoing Director Ty Gray. He is retiring after 31 years with the agency, the past seven as director.
Finley has been with the Game and Fish Commission for 33 years and is the agency’s deputy director. Following a brief transition period, he will assume the director position.
The Arizona Game and Fish Commission appointed the department’s director by a five-member citizen board that sets policy and has broad oversight of the department. The director serves as the department’s chief administrative officer and is responsible for the general supervision and control of all activities, functions and department employees.
