Aqualung Group, the manufacturer of dive and water sports gear, said Bruno Cercley will take over as chairman of its supervisory board, effective July 1. Cercley guided the turnaround of Rossignol as its CEO from 2008 until his retirement in 2021.
Cercley held sales and general management positions in the materials industry—Owens Corning, Atochem and Saint-Gobain—before joining Rossignol. He remains a member of Rossignol’s supervisory board.
Aqualung Group said Cercley will “lead a major transformation plan in a context of growing business activity since the end of the COVID period.”
Aqualung Group brands include Aqualung, Apeks, Omer, and Aquasphere.
The hiring follows a move by Aqualung Group two years ago to embark on a transformation plan aimed at federating its brands, better organizing its production sites and reinforcing its support, commercial and innovation, and R&D. After a period of sanitary restrictions due to COVID during which the business was disrupted worldwide, Aqualung Group said it is in a rebound phase.
Aqualung Group currently employs 850 people and has revenue of nearly €200 million ($212 million). It has a commercial presence in the U.S. (San Diego) and production sites in Western Europe (France, United Kingdom and Italy) and North America (Mexico).
