Anomaly Action Sports, a maker of helmets, eyewear and body armor under the brand names Shred Optics and Slytech Protection, added Jeff Gilberti to its executive team in the newly created position of executive vice president of business development.
Gilberti, a veteran of the snow sports and bike industries, will direct Anomaly’s North American sales efforts and work closely with its board on strategic decisions related to product development, marketing, sales, business strategy and execution, officials said.
“What drew me to Anomaly’s Shred and Slytech brands is their focus on developing best-in-class technologies and their mission to create an outstanding, customer-focused operation,” Gilberti said. “I was compelled to join this great young company because of the spirit, drive and commitment of each of the individuals in the organization.”
Most recently Gilberti served as senior vice president at Fox Head. He also held senior positions at Toms Eyewear, Burton Snowboards’ Anon Optics and Red Helmet divisions, Spy Optics and Smith Optics.
“We couldn’t be more excited to add Jeff to our team of executives,” said Anomaly Action Sports Co-founder and Chairman Ted Ligety. “His experience and knowledge of our space are incredible.”
“There could not be a better time for Jeff to be joining our company,” added Co-founder and CEO Carlo Salmini. “We have an amazing plan that will set us apart and we look forward to Jeff’s contribution to make Shred and Slytech the brands of the future.”
Olympic gold medalist and world champion alpine skier Ligety and Massachusetts Institute of Technology-educated Salmini formed Anomaly Action Sports in 2006.
