The American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) is looking to fill a void in the organization’s current curriculum by adding a discipline.

“We realized we are missing one critical component of our curriculum that the Europeans have expertly mastered,” explained AMGA Technical Director Dale Remsberg.

The new discipline won’t add significant time to the overall progression of the MG Program, and should be completed in six months to one year. However, the prerequisites are extensive. For more details about this new discipline, the AMGA will be making a formal announcement on the group’s social media channels next week.

AMGA has over 4,000 members and offers hundreds of programs per year, which include internationally recognized Mountain Programs. Founded by lifelong climbers and skiers who wanted to provide mountain guides with the tools and connections necessary to boost their careers, AMGA has been established for 30 years.
