Gear bag maker AmeriBag, Inc. has acquired Cerf Brothers Bag Company, which manufactures and distributes HideAway, CampInn and Browning gear lines and renamed the company Cerf Products Inc.
Cerf brands will be warehoused at the corporate headquarters of AmeriBag in Kingston, NY and distributed through direct sales, online retailers and sporting and outdoor retailers. The company plans to expand its resources and create new jobs at its New York headquarters throughout 2010 in order to further develop all AmeriBag and Cerf product lines.
“The combination of Cerf Products and AmeriBag operations will enable the companies to take advantage of each others’ significant expertise in product design and sourcing,” said CFO Todd Ravinett, “The merger will also improve the operational efficiency of both companies.”
Cerf has made bags and protection gear for the outdoors. Products include daypacks, duffels, wheeled luggage, travel kits, stuff sacks, camping hardware and dry bags. The company designs, sources, markets and distributes bags and related outdoor and hunting products under its own brand names and also for licensee, OEM, and private label programs.
