Amer Sports, Inc., the parent of Arc’teryx, Salomon, Wilson Sports, Peak Performance, Atomic, and Armada, among others, has made a number of key leadership changes to support the company’s continued acceleration and evolution as a global public company.
As previously reported by SGB Media, Guillaume Meyzenq, currently chief product officer for Salomon, has been appointed president and CEO for Salomon effective January 1, 2025, reporting to Group CEO James Zheng.
Guillaume is said to be a proven global executive within Salomon and Amer Sports, having led global product categories, regional commercial roles and as a member of the Salomon leadership team for the past decade. Over the past decade, he successfully led the transformation and acceleration of Salomon Footwear, which constitutes the bulk of both the Salomon brand business today and its growth plan for the future.
“We are confident that Guillaume is the right choice for Salomon’s future as he is well positioned to seamlessly continue to lead and execute the Salomon brand strategy and help the business achieve its growth goals,” said James Zheng, Amer Sports Group CEO. “We are excited to see all that he will do to support Salomon’s purpose to help people unleash the best version of themselves through fulfilling outside sports experiences.”
Michael Hauge Sørensen, Amer Sports Group COO and executive officer, will step down from his current position and will return to his former role as advisor to the Board of Directors of Amer Sports, effective January 1, 2025.
The company said he stepped into the role of Group COO in 2020 to help drive the transformation to accelerate Amer Sports for a path of long-term sustainable growth. He also played a pivotal role in preparing for Amer Sports’ NYSE listing in February 2024.
“We are grateful for Michael’s significant contribution during this critical time in Amer Sports’ evolution, and we are pleased that he will continue to advise the company in his return to his previous role,” continued Zheng. “With Michael’s transition, we will evolve the Amer Sports executive structure and discontinue the COO role. We are excited for this opportunity to live one of our core values ‘Better together’ by bringing in more of our dedicated Amer Sports leaders to help lead and grow the company.”

- Salomon President & CEO Guillaume Meyzenq
