Alterra Mountain Company acquired Ski Butlers, a ski equipment rental and delivery service headquartered in Utah.
Ski Butlers will remain a standalone business with operations in 50 worldwide ski destinations and retain its current staff and leadership. The acquisition will provide Alterra’s resort guests access to ski equipment at several of its destinations.
Led by founder and CEO Bryn Carey since 2004, Ski Butlers has serviced skiers and riders at resorts in North America and Europe, offering a reservation system that delivers and picks up equipment at a date, time and location selected by the guest. The service will also change out equipment on the mountain, per the customer’s request, within an hour, for any reason.
“The Ski Butlers team has set the standard for guest satisfaction in the ski industry,” said Jared Smith, president and CEO, Alterra Mountain Company. “As we continue to invest in building a premier guest experience at our destinations, partnering with Ski Butlers is a natural addition.”
Ski Butlers is available at Alterra Mountain Company destinations, Steamboat, Palisades Tahoe, and Deer Valley Resort, plus services in Lake Tahoe, Jackson Hole, Aspen Snowmass, Sun Valley, Big Sky, Copper, Telluride, Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Park City, Whistler-Blackcomb and France and Italy, with plans to expand operations into several North American destinations, starting at Mammoth Mountain for winter 2022/23.
