The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) announced its inaugural group of retail product licensees.
Each company has agreed to contracts which authorize use of the trademarks and logos of Atlantic League clubs. The League announced its plans to create a retail product licensing program earlier in the year. Initial ALPB retail product licensees include: Badger Sportswear, Inc.; Beveridge Marketing; Bimm Ridder; BWM Global, Inc.; Halloway; Kevin’s Wholesale, LLC; Outdoor Cap; Philly Express Athletics; Storm Duds Raingear; The Game; Wildcat Retro Brands; and Vantage Apparel.
The League plans to add additional licensees from a variety of product categories in the near future.
“We thank our licensees for their recognition and support of ALPB clubs and their important intellectual property rights,” said Rick White, president of the Atlantic League. “The League plans to significantly increase its retail business in coming months and our licensee partners will play a critical role in our development.”
Prior to his appointment as president of the Atlantic League, White was atop executive at Major League Baseball for over 15 years serving as president and chief executive officer of Major League Baseball Properties, which oversaw trademark licensing, corporate marketing, publishing, international and special events.
The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) is the highest level of professional baseball other than the Major Leagues. Atlantic League players are experienced professionals, having progressed through the development levels (A, AA, AAA) and are Major League Ready, with over 40 percent of Atlantic League players having Major League service time. Since the League’s inception in 1998, over 30 million fans have attended an ALPB game in one of the League’s state of the art ballparks. The League plans to expand from eight to twelve teams, which will join the existing teams in the major metropolitan markets of New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C. and Houston.
