Directly following Alexander Wang’s New York Fashion Show runway on September 10, where he debuted a collaboration with Adidas Originals, the sportswear brand was quick to share more consumer-facing news about the partnership line via its Twitter @adidasoriginals and Tumblr adidasoriginals.tumblr.com.
Adidas Originals wrote, “The start of something new. Adidas Originals by @AlexanderWangNY” and in another tweet, “From the runway to the streets.”
A video released alongside the capsule, crated by Uzi, mimics the effects of vintage ’80s VHS recordings and captures the minimalist apparel within the line. The apparel sticks to the heritage Adidas Originals color schema of black and white, with some red accents (large X’s across the backs of the t-shirts). Hints of shiny pleather jot the jackets. The look is unkempt and tomboy. The full collection, comprised of 84 pieces, were all made unisex.
The biggest detail that stands out throughout the line is the flipped Adidas Originals logo, which was turned on its head.
