Vegetarians International Voice for Animals filed a lawsuit Wednesday against adidas using a California law intended to protect endangered species.
While adidas makes shoes using kangaroo leather, a common practice in our industry, adidas does not make shoes from endangered kangaroo species. adidas is in full compliance with the California Endangered Species Act and the federal Endangered Species Act. It is important to note that the kangaroo industry is strictly regulated by Australian law and importation of kangaroo leather is also regulated by U.S. law.
