Adidas Outdoor is sponsoring Adventures NYC, the 10th annual, free event in Central Park that brings the outdoor experience to city dwellers. More than 30,000 New Yorkers are expected to attend and engage with established outdoor brands and participate in activities such as climbing, kayaking and stand up paddling.

Specifically, Adidas Outdoor will sponsor the event’s Climbing Zone, featuring four rock-climbing walls where consumers can try the sport and learn about the brand’s footwear and apparel. In addition, they will be sponsoring the 2014 Gibbon Slacklining World Championships, where competitors will be wearing Adidas Outdoor footwear including, the Slack

Cruiser, Climacool Boat Sleek or Boat Slip-on Sleek.

Adidas Outdoor, the athletic brand in the outdoors, includes a wide range of apparel and footwear designed with proprietary performance technology for outdoor pursuits including hiking, climbing, trail running, water sports and slacklining.

“Adventures NYC is a perfect way to showcase Adidas Outdoor to new consumers and to introduce them to the sport of climbing,” said Greg Thomsen, managing director, Adidas Outdoor U.S. “We are focused on the next generation of outdoor athletes and are dedicated to inspiring more young people to get outside – what better place to do that than in the heart of New York City?”

The 10th anniversary of Adventures NYC is presented by Backpacker magazine and NYC Parks. To celebrate this milestone, Adventures NYC is expanding to two days, the second of which is taking place in Marine Park, Brooklyn, where attendees can try water-based activities.
