Adidas Outdoor has partnered with Climb So iLL rock climbing gym (www.climbsoill.com) in St. Louis, MO, as its official outfitter. So iLL, which opened last month, is an massive indoor climbing gym in St. Louis, with 40 rope stations, 55-foot walls, a 24-hour accessible training area and extensive bouldering terrain.

The So iLL climbing space, once a power plant for St. Louis’s City Hospital, underwent a $22 million renovation before opening to more than 700 supporters during its grand opening on March 23, 2012. Brothers Daniel and David Chancellor, who are avid climbers from St. Louis, founded So iLL Holds nine years ago when they began making climbing holds in their parents’ basement. After scouting locations for more than a year, they have now completed their dream of opening an indoor climbing facility with a focus on community growth.

“What really caught our eye about the So iLL facility is its twist on the more traditional climbing gym, bringing such a contemporary, art-inspired character to the climbing experience, as well as creating a community hub providing more people access to climbing in the St. Louis area,” said Greg Thomsen, managing director of Adidas Outdoor, North America. “We know they’ll do very well, and now we also know their team will look great doing their jobs!”

So iLL excels in its 'green' concept and construction to create more functional art pieces that educate, challenge and inspire individuals through a unique indoor climbing experience.

“We feel it's time for the Midwest, and specifically St. Louis, to have a high-end gym that rivals East Coast and West Coast gyms, and we’re proud to say our final product reflects that,” said David Chancellor, co-founder of So iLL. “Having a brand like adidas that understands climbing and the needs of climbers so well puts us in a very fortunate position. With the support of Adidas Outdoor, our qualified team is now outfitted to the highest of standards.”

Located just south of downtown St. Louis, the gym also provides classes, private lessons, and fitness labs, and is accessible to climbers of all experience levels.
