Academy Sports + Outdoors opened a store in Meyerland, TX, its 33rd store in the Houston area, and its 107th store in Texas.
Located at 8715 W Loop South, the 50,000-square-foot store is the seventh of nine new stores Academy said it would open in 2022.
“Academy Sports + Outdoors is excited to offer our hometown a new and convenient location for our loyal customers with an updated store layout and a shopping experience that features the best brands at a great price point,” said Sam Johnson, Academy Sports + Outdoors’ executive vice president, Retail Operations.
Academy forecasted it would open 80-to-100 stores within the next five years. Currently, the retailer has 266 stores operating in 17 states.
