Academy Sports + Outdoors announced opening its first store in Lexington, marking its sixth in Kentucky.
The approximately 80,000 square-foot store, located at 3220 Nicholasville Road #185 in the South Park Shopping Center, officially opens on September 30.
The Lexington location is the retailer’s fifth of nine new stores it expects to open in 2022. Academy, with 264 stores, set a goal to open 80-to-100 new stores over the next five years.
“Academy Sports + Outdoors is excited to kickstart fun in the Lexington community by providing customers what they need to make pursuing their sports and outdoors passions easy and affordable,” said Sam Johnson, Academy’s executive vice president, Retail Operations.
