Academy Sports + Outdoors, the full-line sporting goods and outdoor recreation retailer, announced that Sumit Anand has been appointed executive vice president and chief information officer.
Anand will oversee all enterprise technology operations, including cybersecurity, IT infrastructure and operations and IT shared services, supporting the company’s corporate, distribution center and retail initiatives.
Before joining Academy Sports + Outdoors, Anand served in various executive roles for At Home, based in Dallas, TX, including chief information officer and head of strategy. He was also the senior vice president of Business and Technology Transformation at Signet Jewelers and held leadership roles with Accenture.
Anand joined Academy in March 2025 and reports directly to Academy Sports + Outdoors CEO Steve Lawrence.
