Abercrombie & Fitch reported net sales of $149.6 million for the five-week period ended October 4, 2003, a 16% increase over last year's September sales of $129.3 million. September comparable store sales decreased 1% compared with the five-week period ended October 5, 2002.
Year-to-date, the Company reported a net sales increase of 9% to $1.042 billion from $956.5 million last year. Comparable store sales decreased 7% for the year-to-date period.
Abercrombie & Fitch operated a total of 641 stores at the end of September, including 169 abercrombie stores and 121 Hollister Co. stores.
