This new Knoxville club joins Pickleball Kingdom’s growing presence in Tennessee, with additional locations already underway in Nashville, Hendersonville, Memphis, Chattanooga, and Murfreesboro, solidifying the state as a hub for premier indoor pickleball.

SFIA and Pickleheads have released their second annual report, the 2024 State of Pickleball: Participation & Infrastructure Report, noting that the industry has responded to the shortage of pickleball courts in the U.S., with a 55 percent year-over-year increase in the number of dedicated facilities for play.

The Picklr reported YTD that it has sold “over 390 locations in 42 states, with plans to open at least 30 new clubs in 2024 and an additional 70 in 2025.”

The expanded footprint of Life Time Annapolis, announced in May 2024, now covers nearly 90,000 square feet which includes 11 permanent pickleball courts, courtside social lounges, small group training, cardio and strength training equipment.

The new facility in Lynnwood, WA, led by brother and sister team John and Mara Hylton, will occupy a 37,000-square-foot space previously occupied by Bed Bath & Beyond and feature 12 indoor courts.

Jared and Pam Jolly are the club operators. The club will span 30,000 square feet and occupy two buildings, the first of which will open next month.

Targeting a late summer 2025 debut, the facility will feature 16 indoor courts within the 45,000-square-foot building, led by franchisees Dave Moran and Eric Middleton, co-owners of Wreak Havoc Sports,

The paddle is for players with a shorter, slower stroke, comes in two designs, orange and blue, and meets the USA Pickleball requirements, making it approved for all official tournament play.

Gunn Robison is leading this franchise expansion. Before joining Pickleball Kingdom, Gunn spent 25 years in technology sales and marketing, most recently as vice president of marketing at Microsoft.

This will be the third PK club that franchisees Greg Straub and Doug Reigle are bringing to the Badger State, with the other two coming to Menomonee Falls and Madison.

Life Time, operates over 700 pickleball courts nationwide, said that pickleballs on the market often play too slow and the faster balls preferred by pros and higher-end players are inconsistent in bounce and have significant issues with durability.
