Under Armour unveiled a new platform allowing customers to customize athletic shoes by uploading their own images and selecting prints and colors.
In a statement, Under Armour said the new tools “give you the power to tell your story, show your creativity, or just stand out from the crowd like never before.”
The program, UA ICON on UA.com, will be initially enabling customers to customize some of brand’s most popular footwear silhouettes to date: Curry 1 ($160), Highlight ($160) and ClutchFit Force 3.0 ($250).
“These are the shoes we’ve customized with professionals over time and some of our biggest fans asked us for the chance to make them their own too,” Under Armour said. “We’re excited to deliver the opportunity with UA ICON, with more footwear options to follow at a later date.”
The customization tools being offered include the ability to upload an image or picture and be able to “move it around, shrink it or grow it.” Also available are customizable patterns, limited-edition prints and an extensive array of color options.
“You can customize as many shoes as you’d like, and if ordered today online, shipments will be delivered in mid-July,” Under Armour wrote.
Rival customization programs include NikeiD and Mi Adidas.
