Barmer Enterprises, parent of the eight-unit Bike America chain in Florida, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
According to Bicycle Retailer, the filing listed debt of at least $5 million in debt. Gary Mercado and Steven C. Barnes acquired the Bike America chain in 2014.
The top unsecured creditors included Specialized Bike Components, Giant Bicycle, Cycling Sports Group, B.A. Acquisition Corp.. BMC USA, BRG, CamelBak, Cateye, Haro, Hawley, J&B Importers and Louis Garneau.
