Smartwool stated that industry pioneer Scott Bowers will join the brand as vice president of sales, effective immediately. Bowers will oversee all global wholesale, retail and e-commerce sales efforts for the brand.

Recognized by Sporting Goods Business as a pioneer of the action sports movement and Advertising Age Top 100 Marketers of the Year, Bowers spent 27 years of his career building Oakley, an iconic sports and lifestyle brand.
As chief marketing and digital officer, he served as the brand steward with global responsibility for leading brand identity, worldwide marketing strategies, e-commerce and sales demand creation.
More recently, he was a founding partner with Project-Aspen, a brand transformation & strategy consultancy, assisting companies such as The North Face, Wheel Pros, Faraday Future, Scott Sports, Lamborghini and Black Diamond Equipment to unlock their true potential. Prior to that he was chief marketing officer at Wheel Pros and Factory Design Labs, respectively. He has also held board positions with Black Diamond Equipment and Surf Industry Manufacturers Association.
