Interbike has added Kevin Westcott to their sales team. Westcott replaces Adam O’Brien as Account Executive for Interbike’s growing portfolio of trade events – Interbike Expo, OutDoor Demo and the inaugural Winterbike, planned for February 2005.

No stranger to the bicycle industry, Westcott comes to Interbike from Crank Bros., where he managed sales efforts, athlete marketing, customer service and the warranty department. Also a seasoned competitive cyclist, Westcott spent a few years racing in Europe and a couple of seasons racing as a pro. At Interbike, Westcott will service Eastern North America.

“Kevin has all of the ingredients it takes to excel in this position,” said Lance Camisasca, Interbike show director. “He’s spent a lot of time in the industry, both on the manufacturing side and in retail and he brings Interbike some valuable experience from both sides of the fence.”

“The backbone of a solid sales program is building relationships and I believe this is one of my biggest strengths,” said Westcott. “I’m super excited about working with Interbike and taking on a whole new challenge.”

Still keeping it in the VNU Expositions family, O’Brien has relocated to the East Coast to work with the VNU Film Group in New York City.

In other Interbike team news, Chad Battistone, who has been with Interbike for 3 years as a Sales Associate, has been promoted to Account Executive. Along with his existing BMX clients, Battistone will be responsible for all international accounts (excluding Europe) and Central North America.

“Ten years in the bike industry and it’s all been pointing me right here to Interbike – it’s an awesome group to work with,” said Battistone. “Working with my peers is like working with family. I am lucky to be part of such a great industry.”
