ExtremeCare, manufacturers of ProTech, is steadily growing with a new distribution partnership with Adventure 16 and the launch of a grassroots retailer support program.
“Were very excited that A16, a core organization in the outdoor industry, has recognized the quality and performance of our skin care products,” says Melody Appleton, founder of ExtremeCare. “With A16s experience and reputation we will add more dealers to help us fulfill the growing consumer demand for ProTech.” ProTech also recently added distribution with Paceline Products in the bicycle market and is rapidly expanding in the specialty retail market.
Kevin Lee, Adventure 16 Sales & Marketing Manager, said, “Adventure 16 looks forward to fulfilling the just-in-time ProTech needs of our outdoor specialty retailers. ProTech sun care products are exactly the type of specialty items our outdoor retailers want to carry to differentiate themselves from the competition.”
The retailer support program incorporates active grassroots initiatives to assist the retailer in reaching the consumer at the point of entry. A highlight of the program is event sponsorship, which includes free ProTech samples for store events such as clinics and outdoor demo days. Some of the larger national events ProTech exhibits at and sponsors across the country include the Phoenix Bouldering Competition, Trail Runner Trophy Series, Vasque Ultra Running Team, Western States 100 and American Bouldering Series.
Another key feature of the support program is co-marketing advertising dollars. When a retailer includes the ProTech logo in a print ad, ExtremeCare will provide cash payment depending on the ad size.
“Grassroots marketing has been effective in reaching the customer and driving sales to the retailer. At events we want to help our retailers by telling the consumer where they can get our products,” says Appleton.
