The Timberland Company has been named to the list of “100 Best Companies for Working Mothers” by Working Mother magazine. Companies are selected for the list based on information about their corporate culture, employee population and policies on work/life and women's advancement.

Applications are scored on details such as the number of work/life programs offered, the employee usage of such programs and the representation of women throughout the company. This year, Working Mother gave particular weight to three issues: flexible scheduling, time off for new parents and child-care options.

“Providing support to working mothers is consistent with Timberland's values,” said Bruce Johnson, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Timberland. “We recognize and appreciate our employees as individuals, and we try to offer programs and benefits that meet their needs and improve their quality of life – both in and outside of the workplace.”

The “100 Best Companies for Working Mothers” list appears in the October issue of Working Mother magazine.

Working Mother reaches nearly 3 million readers and is the only national magazine for career-committed mothers. The “100 Best Companies for Working Mothers” list is its 19-year signature, and a benchmark for work/life practices in corporate America. The publication is part of Working Mother Media (WMM), which also owns the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE), NAFE Magazine, and the annual 100 Best Companies WorkLife Congress.

“It's an enormous responsibility to care for a family and succeed at a job,” said Carol Evans, CEO of Working Mother Media. “We're thrilled to see the serious commitment of smart companies to help their employees.”
