Asics announced that it re-signed French tennis star Gaël Monfils to a multi-year agreement to support the launch of the COURT FF.
Known for his energetic play and agility on the court, Monfils became an Asics worldwide tennis ambassador in 2013 and has steadily risen in the rankings over the course of the partnership. The 30-year-old phenom is currently at the top of his game, ranked 12th in the world (as Feb 23, 2017), and earning his biggest title win in Washington D.C., a U.S. Open semi-final place and qualification for his first season-ending championships.
“Speed, agility and range are key parts of my game and Asics technology and stability allow me to play the game the way I love to play it,” said Monfils. “I’m excited to continue this partnership and work with everyone at Asics tennis to bring everyone the best tennis shoes and apparel.”
The Frenchman will continue his contribution to the development of new Asics tennis collections, offering his unique insight on the needs of top-level players, as well as infusing his personal style and providing feedback to the brand’s designers. He has already praised the GEL-RESOLUTION tennis shoe for its outstanding stability, which he requires for his explosive play.
