National Geographic Adventure will increase its guaranteed rate base by 18% from 425,000 to 500,000, beginning with the February 2005 issue, Publisher Francis X. Farrell has announced.
“The adventure travel and sports market is expanding, and the magazine is benefiting from consumers' insatiable appetite for all things adventure related. Our editorial mission has always been to tap into that passion – and this big jump in rate base means we have been successful. Readers love Adventure magazine, and as the publication matures, the volume of long-term subscribers is building nicely, and our new business programs have consistently surpassed our goals,” said Farrell.
In addition to the double-digit increase in circulation, National Geographic Adventure is investing in upgraded paper stock to ensure an even higher-quality environment. The magazine has also redesigned the front-of-book departments to encourage an even stronger sense of community among its readers.
