Adidas signed two of China’s star athletes, swimmer Ning Zetao and volleyball player Hui Ruoqi, as its latest brand ambassadors. The two will star in a campaign called “One in a Billion.”
Ruoqi is the captain of the China women’s volleyball team that won gold at last year’s Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Zetao, the first Asian to win a gold medal in the 100-meter freestyle at the World Championships, also represented China at the Rio Olympics but failed to medal.
“Creativity is the core of our business and part of everything we do,” said Colin Currie, managing director of Adidas Group for Greater China, in a statement. “We remain strongly committed to working closely with our ever-expanding portfolio of sports assets to accelerate the pace of sport development nationwide and inspire more Chinese to embrace their individuality through sport.”
