The Buckle's sales for the five-week period ended July 3, 2004 increased 16.9% to $34.7 million from sales of $29.7 million in the corresponding five-week period ended July 5, 2003.
Comparable store sales, for stores open at least one year, for the five-week period ended July 3, 2004 increased 10.3% from comparable store sales for the prior year five-week period ended July 5, 2003.
Net sales year-to-date, for the 22 weeks ended July 3, 2004 increased 16.0% to $156.8 million from $135.2 million for the corresponding 22 weeks in the prior year. Comparable store sales year-to-date were up 10.9% from sales in the same 22-week period of the previous year.
Beginning with the four-week period ended May 1, 2004, the Company changed its method of reporting comparable store sales to exclude internet sales. Comparable store sales reported above for the five and twenty-two week periods ended July 3, 2004 reflect the impact of this change.
