Bauer Hockey, a manufacturer of hockey equipment, partnered with both William Nylander and Alexander Nylander. The Canadian-born brothers were both first-round National Hockey League draft picks and have represented Sweden on the international stage.
“Both William and Alexander are young, talented players who will be impactful and influential to the global hockey community for many years to come,” said Mary-Kay Messier, vice president, marketing, Bauer Hockey. “It is rare that you find players that transcend regional markets, but William and Alexander are widely popular in both North America and Sweden. We look forward to working with them on a wide-variety of marketing initiatives that we believe will help continue to elevate the Bauer brand throughout the world.”
William Nylander, who was the eighth overall pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, is currently playing in his second NHL season with the Toronto Maple Leafs after being called up from the Leafs’ AHL affiliate late last year. In 20 games with the Leafs this season, the center has registered six goals and nine assists for 15 points. Last year, he finished with six goals and seven assists for 13 points in 22 games.
Prior to joining the Leafs organization, William Nylander played professionally in Sweden for Modo Hockey and Södertälje SK. On the international stage, William Nylander has represented Sweden six different times, including in the IIHF World Junior Championships in 2015 and 2016.
“It is truly an honor to join the Bauer family alongside some of the greatest players in the world today,” said William Nylander. “I look forward to not only wearing the best equipment in the game, but also working with the entire team to promote the Bauer brand and the sport of hockey in Canada, Sweden and throughout the world.”
Alexander Nylander was also an eighth overall NHL Draft selection, taken in the first round by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. Currently, Alexander Nylander is playing for the Rochester Americans, Buffalo’s AHL affiliate. In 19 games with Rochester, Alexander Nylander has registered four goals and nine assists for 13 points.
Prior to signing with Buffalo this year, Alexander Nylander played for the Mississauga Steelheads of the Canadian Hockey League. Alexander Nylander has represented Sweden four times in international play, including playing alongside his bother William in the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championships.
“I am very happy and proud to be a part of the BAUER family,” said Alexander Nylander. “I have worn Bauer skates and used Bauer sticks for as long as I can remember and to officially partner with the company is an incredible feeling.”
The Nylander brothers join other Bauer athletes including Henrik Lundqvist, Alexander Ovechkin, Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Jack Eichel and Auston Matthews.
