Wal-Mart Stores reported net sales for the four-week period ending April 30, 2004, of $20.765 billion, an increase of 11.7 percent over the $18.592 billion in the same four-week period in the prior year. Sales for the thirteen-week period were $66.058 billion, an increase of 13.4 percent over $58.272 billion in the similar period in the prior year.

The Wal-Mart division's sales for the four-week period were $13.980 billion, up 10.5 percent over sales of $12.651 billion in the same four-week period in the prior year. The division's sales for the thirteen weeks of $44.330 billion were up 12.0 percent over $39.593 billion in the similar prior-year period.

SAM'S CLUB sales for the four-week period were $2.737 billion, up 9.7 percent over sales of $2.494 billion in the same four-week period in the prior year. Club sales for the thirteen weeks of $8.799 billion were up 9.8 percent over the $8.016 billion in the similar prior-year period.

The International division's sales for the four-week period were $4.048 billion, up 17.4 percent over sales of $3.447 billion in the same four- week period in the prior year. The division's sales for the thirteen weeks of $12.929 billion were up 21.3 percent over the $10.663 billion in the similar prior-year period.

Comparable sales for the periods ending April 30, 2004 and May 2, 2003, were as follows:
