Tailwind Nutrition has been named as the official hydration for the ninth annual Tarawera Ultramarathon and the Kathmandu Coast to Coast World Multi-Sport Championships, two New Zealand endurance events.
Both races will offer Tailwind Nutrition on course at all aid stations.
“Tailwind Nutrition is honored to be the official hydration at these iconic events,” said Jenny Vierling, co-founder of Tailwind Nutrition. “Both of these races are extremely tough and capture the essence of the endurance community: testing your personal limits to just cross the finish line in an incredibly beautiful place, encouraging and supporting other participants along the course, and afterwards sharing your stories of pain and glory. Tailwind is excited to support such extraordinary experiences.”
Comprised of 62km, 87km and 102km courses, the Tarawera Ultramarathon is a part of the 12-race Ultra-Trail World Tour and typically has about 1,200 participants, including over 600 international ultra-runners. The course takes runners through forests, around lakes and waterfalls and through the landscape of the Bay of Plenty.
One of New Zealand’s longest running competitions, the Kathmandu Coast to Coast World Multi-Sport Championships is a multi-sport event that started back in 1983. Competitors tackle the 243km course by cycling, kayaking and trail running in either a One Day or Two Day event. Most racers take two days to cover the distance, camping overnight before they begin paddling and completing their last ride.
Tailwind Nutrition was founded in Durango, CO by endurance athletes. Its product, Tailwind Endurance Fuel, contains calories and electrolytes. Available in seven flavors, it is dairy, soy and gluten free.
