Climb High, the U.S. distributor of the Mammut, Raichle, Ajungilak and ToKo brands, is seeing significant growth for Mammut in the U.S. market. Following 54% growth for the brand in 2003, Climb High posted a 36% increase in revenue for Mammut in the first quarter of 2004. CEO Bill Supple is also reporting positive strides for Raichle outdoor footwear and the ToKo wax and care brands since they were acquired in 2003 by the Mammut Sports Group (Climb High's parent company).
“We've had an excellent spring season so far with apparel growing 86%. Similarly, our Mammut Barryvox sales doubled in the first quarter compared to last year”, said Supple. “Our hardware business is surging as we get into the heart of the season, with the popularity of Mammut's Focus harness, 8mm Dyneema Contact slings, and new carabiner range. Our strong heritage in high-quality ropes has really helped here, and we expect solid growth as these signature products and our strong brand name continue to build on one another”.
Supple also sees positive development for the Raichle and ToKo brands in the US market. “The first year of brand integration is typically challenging for any company logistically. We're pleased to be seeing such strong growth in Mammut with the integration of two new brands into our business platform last year. Now our sales and marketing efforts are focused on further developing the Raichle and ToKo brands as well, and we're off to a really good start in 2004”, adds Supple.
