Blizzard Sport USA and Tecnica, which operate as a single business unit under the Tecnica Group SPA umbrella, stated that Joe Sipe, formerly western promotions manager, is taking on a new role as ambassador programs manager.
Tecnica is an alpine ski boot brand located in West Lebanon, NH. Blizzard Sport USA is the U.S. distributor of Blizzard Skis, which are manufactured in Mittersill, Austria.
“I’m looking forward to working closely with our pros and ambassadors out in the field as well as with our four newly named athletes to the PSIA National Demo Team,” commented Sipe.
In his role Sipe will work closely with pros, ambassadors and others representing the brands in the field, including the four members of the newly named Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) National Demo Team. The four sponsored skiers are members of the PSIA Demo Team, comprised of 30 instructors. The team is responsible for developing and promoting educational programs and activities at all levels.
“I am excited to be working with our PSIA team skiers who will represent Blizzard/Tecnica throughout the world,” commented Sipe. “Supporting PSIA is a way for the Blizzard/Tecnica brands to showcase their product on the hill, but also to get feedback from elite skiers. We work closely with our athletes to specifically design Blizzard/Tecnica products. Our PSIA Team athletes bring a wealth of knowledge and come from a variety of skiing backgrounds. I am thrilled to see what comes in the next four years working with the PSIA Team Members.”
The sponsored athletes are Jonathan Ballou, director of operations, Ski and Snowboard Schools of Aspen/Snowmass; Brenna Kelleher, Level III PSIA examiner, former NCAA racer and junior Olympic racer; Stephen Helfenbein, PSIA-I Alpine Education manager and junior freeride coach at Alta/Snowbird; and Greg Dixon, new member to the PSIA National Nordic Team.
