Stonewear Designs has launched a Yoga Ambassador program to help support the popularity they already enjoy among yoga enthusiasts. The goal of the Yoga Ambassadors program is to build a small corps of yoga instructors to be an auxiliary force to Stonewear Designs' mainstream rep force who focus on traditional outdoor specialty retail stores.
“We've gotten rave reviews from yoga enthusiasts so it made sense to try to open up more yoga-specific doors,” said Tonya Riggs, Director of Sales and Marketing for Stonewear's parent company, Great Trango Holdings, Inc.
Stonewear's inaugural Yoga Ambassador is Alanna Estes who lives in the mountains near Boulder. Estes explained that she first discovered Stonewear Designs at a Yoga Journal conference in Estes Park two years ago, where Stonewear had a booth. “I think I bought four tops and started wearing them and couldn't take them off,” Estes said. “They fit great and wear well, and I never do yoga in anything else.”
Though she only started a few short weeks ago, Estes said she has already opened two new accounts. “Frequently I'm talking to yogi's who are a little nervous about venturing into retail, but when they see how much I love the clothes, and how much I wear them, they take another look,” Estes said.
Estes is the only certified Jivamukti yoga instructor in Colorado and is president of the statewide nonprofit association, Yoga Teachers of Colorado. Estes explained that Jivamukti yoga is a very vigorous form that incorporates spiritual lessons and great music.
