Nathan, the running essentials company, released their lineup of three elite athletes to tackle the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc, one of the highest-profile trail ultramarathons in the world. Nathan will provide hydration and other essentials for world-class ultrarunners Zach Miller, Michael Wardian and Paul Giblin.
“As Zach, Michael and Paul prepare to face the grueling high-altitude 100-mile ultramarathon, Nathan will supply them with a variety of industry-leading, top-selling products in order to withstand the harsh elements and keep them fueled as they race towards the podium,” said Brent Hollowell, VP of marketing for Nathan.
The Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc is the highlight of the Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc alpine ultramarathon race series. Covering 103 miles and approximately 33,000 feet of elevation gain in France, Italy and Switzerland, the Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc is one of the toughest ultramarathons in the world. All three of Nathan’s sponsored athletes are seasoned ultrarunners looking to make an impact in Chamonix, beginning on Friday, August 26.
“Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc is perhaps the most illustrious race in ultrarunning,” said Tony Armand, CEO of United Sports Brands, parent company of Nathan. “Supporting athletes like Zach, Michael and Paul at this year’s UTMB demonstrates our commitment to providing gear that will perform well under the toughest circumstances.”
In addition to their support of the athletes, Nathan will be in attendance at the pre-race Ultra-Trail Show & Expo August 23-26. Miller, Wardian and Giblin join Nathan’s roster of elite endurance athletes that includes ultrarunning stars Rob Krar, Sage Canaday, Jim Walmsley, Stephanie Howe and Emily Harrison, and Olympian and World Champion triathlete Andy Potts.
