Whoop will begin marketing its wearable performance optimization system to consumers in time for the 2016 holiday season. Unlike other trackers, Whoop is known for its ability to lend insights to athlete strain and recovery. This allowed individuals, teams and coaches to reduce injuries and predict performance.

“After seeing such success with elite athletes, we’re very proud to be able to share our performance optimization system with the public,” said Will Ahmed, Founder and CEO, Whoop. “For the first time, every athlete will be able to get actionable data, measure strain and recovery and optimize travel and sleep – all so that they can reduce injury and improve performance.”

The company also announced that 20 Olympic athletes, including front-runners like swimmer Ryan Lochte, wrestler Adeline Gray, and beach volleyball team Casey Patterson and Jake Gibb, are training on the sports performance platform in preparation for Rio.

In addition to Olympic and professional athletes, Whoop is being used successfully by the U.S. Military and collegiate athletes.
