Avalanche, the family owned and operated active outdoor apparel company founded in 1987, expanded its design team to include Daniela Maury and Rachel Brown.
As director of design for men’s and women’s apparel, Maury will guide the direction for Avalanche’s four collections, leveraging her expertise in fabrics, technical detail and garment fittings from design concept to final production. She was previously a designer for The North Face for more than six years, focusing on women’s sportswear and outerwear and serving as head designer for men’s and women’s international outerwear
Rachel Brown, currently serving as senior designer for Avalanche, comes to the brand from Reebok where she worked as design manager of women’s sport, lead designer for the women’s Armani Reebok collaboration, and as senior designer for women’s running. Prior to that, Brown was a designer of men’s and women’s knitwear for L.L. Bean.
Talia Petrucci, daughter of Avalanche Founder Ron Petrucci who worked for many years as design director for the brand, will move forward as director of production, leveraging her deep understanding for the attention to detail and performance benefit needs that align with the brand’s tradition and continued mission.
“Our design team leads and inspires the personification of the Avalanche brand,” said Ronny Petrucci, EVP, Avalanche. “It’s incredibly important for us to have a strong team that has an appreciation for our heritage but also the vision of its potential and ability to steer it into the future while staying true to the needs of today’s savvy consumers.”
