As part of an overall goal to manage and continue growth in the active mountain sports market, GATES Gloves and Gear has appointed a new group of associates for representation in the upper midwest region.
Grimsrud-Barnes is now representing GATES in the select territories of Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Upper Peninsula of Michigan, North Dakota, South Dakota and Iowa. The new group of associates, led by Doug Nelson, Tom Barnes and TJ Barnes, will be the chief representatives of GATES active and dress handwear and accessories as well as for the new line of GATES outdoor footwear in their territories.
The new addition brings together 55 years of combined experience selling accessories and footwear to the outdoor/active market. Doug Nelson commented on behalf of Grimsrud-Barnes saying “We are excited about adding the GATES line into our agency mix. With the power of ROCKY® behind the brand, we know the already strong line-up of products will only get better. We look forward to a successful relationship with this great organization.”
Brian Gerrain, VP of the GATES Active Sports Division agreed by saying, “We are excited to add Grimsrud- Barnes to our fine sales group and look forward to working with them to service this key territory. Their years of experience with handwear and accessories will allow us to continue to build the GATES glove and accessory business.
They also provide us with an agency that has a long history of selling to the footwear trade as we begin to develop our new GATES footwear program.”
