Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation announced Don Baum will join the Company as Senior Vice President of Global Manufacturing. Mr. Baum will be responsible for further developing and managing the Company's global manufacturing division. In addition, he will work with Polo's distribution and information services divisions to implement integrated supply chain management strategies. Mr. Baum will report to Doug Williams, Group President, and will be based in New York. He replaces Frank Attwood who left Polo to pursue other interests.
Most recently, Mr. Baum was Vice President/Group Manufacturing Director for Liz Claiborne Brands. During his nine-year tenure at Liz Claiborne, he held a number of management positions in manufacturing and led the company's reduced cycle time initiative and consolidated the production of five brands into one global manufacturing group. Prior to that, he was head of the manufacturing team at the men's and women's apparel company Go Silk. Mr. Baum began his career at Manhattan Industries, Inc. where his experiences included head of production for men's and women's apparel for several divisions.
