The World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) announced that Marc Pinsard, deputy senior general manager global brand marketing division, Asics, has been appointed new chairperson for the WFSGI CISO (Committee on International Sports Organizations) Committee.
He succeeds Wolfgang Schnellbuegel, former Managing Director, SPORT 2000 International.
Marc Pinsard has joined WFSGI’s International Sports Organizations Committee in 2011. The WFSGI CISO Committee is the sporting goods industry’s consensus voice to all sports federations and organizations. The Committee maintains relations and involvement with International Federations (IFs) and sport organisations on all sporting-goods related issues including, but not limited to kit and advertisement regulations for Olympic Games and other major sport events.
“We are in close collaboration with sport governing bodies such as the International Olympic Committee and International Sport Federations to simplify and align the Manufacturing Identification Guidelines. Therefore it is very important that with Marc we have found a successor who adequately has a wealth of experience in brand marketing and relations to International Sports Organizations”, states Robbert de Kock, WFSGI Secretary General.
The 45-years-old Frenchman Marc Pinsard is fluent in English and Japanese and a veteran in the sporting goods industry. He has more than 20 years of experience in this industry and worked at Babolat and Reebok before joining ASICS in 2009. Marc has lived for more than 13 years in Japan and has got a BA in Business Economics, Marketing and Sales, followed by a post graduate degree in International Management and Japanese Business & Culture. Right from the beginning of joining his current employer, it has been his mission to drive and execute ASICS’ global Marketing strategy to strengthen ASICS’ brand equity globally and achieve its strategic business objectives. Since November 2013, he has also been co-leading the internal task force for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
