Golf rounds played were up 1.6 percent in August 2015 versus August 2014. The biggest regional gains came in East North Central, climbing 7.3 percent; followed by Mid Atlantic, 2.8 percent; West North Central, 1.4 percent; and South Atlantic, 0.5 percent.
Declines were seen in Mountain, down 0.9 percent; New England, 0.7 percent; South Central, 3.6 percent; and Pacific, 0.5 percent.
Public access play was up 2.4 percent while private course activity was down 1.7 percent.
Year-to-date rounds played are now ahead 0.6 percent .
There were 3560 contributing golf courses used in the report.
