Seattle-based handbag and accessories brand, Haiku, has added two reps to its domestic sales team.
Tom McCalla, a former sales representative for Overland Equipment, will be taking over the Southeast territory, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Caroline, and Tennessee.
“The Haiku brand brings a fresh styling to functional bags that should appeal to my discriminating customer base in the Southeast,” said McCalla. “For that reason, I am pleased to be joining the Haiku team and look forward to a mutually beneficial association.” Some the other complementary brands he represents include Briggs & Riley Travel Gear, AKU Footwear & Tilley, Purnell and Duckworth.
“We look forward to leveraging Tom’s experience in the outdoor industry, including the women’s handbag and accessories category, to build sales and a greater brand presence in the Southeast,” states Haiku’s General Manager, Dana Viernes. “We also recognize his ability to build relationships across multiple channels, especially as we expand our distribution into the travel industry.”
Clerc Koenck will be covering the South Central territory, including Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas. Clerc (pronounced “Claire”), is a former professional runner who comes to Haiku after being a sales representative for Brooks Running, and the Rocky Mountain Region technical sales representative for Brooks Sports Inc. She currently represents tasc Performance.
“Haiku is a brand that encompasses both energy and serenity in one beautiful bag and company,” said Koenck. “From my first encounter with Haiku as a consumer to my first conversation with the brand, I knew our values were aligned and that Haiku will be a brand that resonates with the market for years to come.”
“Clerc’s enthusiasm and her proven success as a sales representative will make for an exceptional combination. She brings with her experience in the sports specialty and outdoor channels. We love the fact that she lives and breathes our brand values and look forward to her growing the South Central territory,” said Viernes.
