Kent International Enters Licensing Agreement with Margaritaville

Kent International, the second largest bicycle supplier to the U.S. mass market, has signed a three-year agreement to license the Margaritaville, LandShark, and It’s 5 o’Clock Somewhere brands owned by Jimmy Buffet for a new line of co-branded adult and children’s bicycles, helmets and baskets.

The bikes will be distributed to all of its retailers in the United States, which include Walmart.

“Margaritaville’s iconic name brings to mind the desire to kick back and escape the everyday,” said Paul Robb of Margaritaville. “We look forward to working with Kent International to provide Margaritaville branded bicycles for anyone looking to pedal their way to paradise.”

Kent International opened a 200,000-square-foot bicycle facility in Manning, SC last year to supply Wal-Mart and other retailers with their first domestically assembled bicycles sold in more than 15 years. The opening of the facility will contribute to the creation of more than 200 jobs by 2017.

Since launching its first restaurant location in Key West, Fla. in 1987, Buffet's company Margaritaville has expanded domestically and internationally to restaurants, retail shops, vacation ownership and cruise partnerships, as well as resorts and casinos, including its 349 room flagship luxury resort opening this summer in Hollywood Beach, FL. Consumers can also enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of Margaritaville at home through its national radio station on Sirius/XM, retail products including apparel, frozen concoction makers, home décor and food, beverage and spirits lines consisting of Margaritaville tequilas, rums, LandShark Lager and Island Tea. Margaritaville is more than a product or a place, it's a state of mind.
