Icebreaker announced the launch of its newest retail TouchLab in Calgarys Chinook Center, one of North Americas highest-performing shopping destinations.

Designed with eco-friendly elements incorporated throughout, the latest addition to Icebreakers global retail TouchLab program sits at the heart of the shopping center near Canadas first, recently launched, Nordstrom. The new location will open to the public this December in time for the winter holiday season.

As a brand that strives to inspire adventures in nature, Icebreaker is excited to bring our fifth Canadian retail location to Calgary, a city in close proximity to mountain resorts and outdoor recreation where people share our passion for the outdoors, says Justin Walford, General Manager of Icebreaker Canada. Canada is one of Icebreakers highest performing countries, largely due the premium Canadians put on investing in high quality outdoor apparel. This flagship store will amplify Icebreakers tremendous network of existing retail partners who offer the Icebreaker range in Calgary, and introduce thousands of new winter and summer sports enthusiasts to the brand through our prime Chinook location.

The Calgary TouchLab is the 25th location in Icebreakers global network of retail stores, which includes a network of 13 North American stores in major international cities, including Montreal, San Francisco, New York, Vancouver and Chicago. As Icebreaker enters its third decade, the brand has grown into the worlds largest merino outdoor apparel company with the range available in over 5,000 outdoor and sporting goods stores in 50 countries.

The 1380-square foot TouchLab is located in the new LEED certified portion of the Chinook Centre. Centrally located, the mall can be accessed through the Light Rail Transit Line. Other green amenities include energy efficient and ozone friendly heating and cooling equipment, wind and solar power to reduce the malls carbon footprint, and water efficiency tanks to collect rainwater.

The natural, contemporary rustic “TouchLab” design will also introduce several new store concepts and designs, including the launch of Icebreakers Body Fit Bar and Shop. Designed from a need to showcase Icebreakers status as the Worlds Best Base Layer on the pedestal it deserves, designers created this store-within-a-store exclusively dedicated to base layers. The actual body-fit bar is a space where guests are invited to learn about merino base layers and the entire Born to Worn Icebreaker sustainability story, as told through hand-curated books and other elements that bring New Zealand and the story of Icebreaker to life.

The Calgary “TouchLab” will feature Icebreaker’s complete line of innovative merino wool apparel, including outdoor, run, fitness, kids, underwear and travel & lifestyle collections along with socks and accessories, all made from merino wool sourced from the Southern Alps of New Zealand.

The Icebreaker Calgary “TouchLab” will be open Monday-Saturday 9:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Sunday and holidays 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. The store is located in the Chinook Shopping Center, 6455 Macleod Trail. Icebreaker has four other Canadian Touch Labs: two in Vancouver, British Columbia, one in Montreal, Quebec, and an outlet store located in the suburbs of Toronto.
