Marlin magazine Editor-in-Chief John Brownlee has announced that as of September 29 Andrew Cox, will be its new senior editor. In this new position, Cox will lead field efforts and content creation for all Marlin channels including print, web, social media, events and more.
Cox comes to Marlin with multiple years of experience in conservation outreach, fishery management and service on the Highly Migratory Species Advisory Panel to NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration). Most recently, he was the chief government affairs officer at The Billfish Foundation.
Cox has fostered corporate partnerships and served in an outreach capacity through The Billfish Foundation, making himself well-known amongst the fishing community. He has been a contributing writer to Marlin magazine since 2013, focusing on the conservation column. His writings discussed fisheries policy and other international conservation matters impacting billfish, highly migratory species and the sportfishing industry as a whole.
