50 Campfires, an online destination for the car and family camping lifestyle, announces that they will be the primary focus on the #23 Nationwide Series Chevrolet with Rick Ware Racing at Watkins Glen International during the Zippo 200 event on Saturday, August 9th, 2014.
California road racer Kevin O'Connell will be the featured driver at The Glen. O'Connell commented,
“After coming off an excellent finish at Road America, we welcome 50 Campfires to the wide world of NASCAR, great road racing and to the best racing fans anywhere,” said California road race driver Kevin O’Connell, who will be the featured driver at the Watkins Glen event.
The qualifying race begins at 9:30am ET and airs on ESPN2 with the main event airing on ABC at 2:15pm ET.
According to the 2013 Outdoor Participation Report from the Outdoor Foundation, over 38 million Americans participated in car, backyard or RV camping and went on an average of 5.8 camping trips in 2012. Many of these campers are NASCAR fans.
